On Friday, November 25th, Cartoon Network introduced a game changer: Ben 10 / Generator Rex: Heroes United, an hour-long special event of out-of-this-world proportions! The special brought Ben Tennyson of Ben 10 fame over to the universe of Rex Salazar, of Generator Rex fame. There was a smash up, a team up, and then a battle to end all battles with the malevolent Alpha Nanite; an evil, twisted mirror of the Nanites that Rex utilizes for all of his builds. For months we’ve been waiting to watch. For hours we’ve been watching, rewatching, and reviewing what we’ve just seen. So what’s the final verdict? Who won? Will there be another? And, overall, how did we rate Heroes United?

Today is Thanksgiving, but tomorrow we give thanks! On Friday, November 25th, at 7pm, Cartoon Network is ready to present Ben 10 / Generator Rex: Heroes United. Needless to say, we’re a bit excited for the premiere. I mean, c’mon! It’s both of Man of Action’s biggest superstars, Ben Tennyson and Rex Salazar, teaming up and… well, also beating each other senseless. Of course, we have to see who would win in a fight, right?

The countdown to Heroes United

The countdown to Heroes United

It’s days now. Just a handful of days. It’s just months, it’s not weeks, it’s not “just an idea” or some sorta sick April Fool’s joke (cough, cough) Heroes United is just a few days away from its November 25th premiere. For the first time ever (and, note, no one ever said “only time”) Ben from Ben 10: Ultimate Alien is teaming up with Rex from Generator Rex in an hour long crossover event. This special even has us not caring about Thanksgiving or Christmas!! Actually, that’s not true, at all… we’re excited for both! …Maybe THEY, too, should crossover, in some sorta …Thanksmas? ….Ahh, forget it. In the meantime, enjoy these new screen grabs from Ben 10 / Generator Rex Heroes United!

We’re past teasers. We’re past trailers. With Ben 10 Ultimate Alien and Generator Rex meeting for the very first time, the Man of Action made super heroes are bringing their A-Game to the crossover, teaming up and battling up to make sure audiences get their excitement to the max. We’ve already posted bits and pieces about how Ben Tennyson goes Humungousaur on Generator Rex. We’ve also had an indepth look at how Ben, Wrath, and Lodestar are all unknowns in the world of Generator Rex. But pictures can’t quite do it justice, so lets get to the footage!

Ben 10 goes Humungousaur in Heroes United

For weeks now, we’ve been anxiously looking forward to the first ever meeting of Cartoon Network superstars Ben Tennyson and Rex Salazar, aka Ben 10 and Generator Rex. As heroes in each of their respective shows, we could only imagine that they’d both meet up, shake hands, then chance on after some of their teamed villains – but that’s not exactly what the Man of Action icons have planned. …and now, we’re even more anxious for the November 25th special to premiere! Generator Rex could have an advantage, with a body full of nanites ready to form giant, pummeling hammers. But, thankfully for Ben, he didn’t leave his Ultrimatrix on his world, giving him the ability to shape shift into his Humungousaur form. Humungousaur versus Generator Rex? Sounds like a fight we’d like to get a preview of!

Ben Tennyson unknown in the world of Generator Rex

Ben Tennyson unknown in the world of Generator Rex

Our pal Ben Tennyson has been through a number of changes through out the years, even beyond the ability to shape shift into various alien forms. One of the most damaging, which occurred between the Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien era, was having his secret identity exposed to the world. Now, wherever he or one of his alien forms goes, everyone knows who is really beneath it all. But then, somehow, Ben shoots over to an incredibly similar, but different Earth. Here, in New York City, there appears to be an alien threat that Ben must deal with, along with Humungousaur, Lodestar, Diamondhead, Rath and others. The problem is, no one recognizes the alien forms. Worse yet, no one recognizes Ben. …and who the heck is this Generator Rex guy…?

Not that long ago, Cartoon Network teamed with Papaya Studio and Crave Entertainment to bring Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion to the Nintendo 3DS. The general premise was awesome: take a dozen or so iconic characters from the network’s lineup (Ben 10, Chowder, Dexter, Samurai Jack, etc.) and have them square off in a fighter like Super Smash Bros. Well, now, thanks to some great footage from New York Comic Con 2011, we see that development has really come on strong for the home edition, Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL, out soon for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii. Ben 10 and Generator Rex: Heroes United coming to Cartoon Network

Ben 10 and Generator Rex: Heroes United coming to Cartoon Network

A few months back, ToonBarn ran a story about the potential crossover of the Ben 10 universe with the newly created Generator Rex universe. Seeing as how both are iconic heroes on Cartoon Network, and both have ties to Man of Action Studios, it made perfect sense — at least for the April Fools joke that we ran it as, Generator Rex: Ultimate Alien: . A good chunk of our readers were fooled by the fake story, but a good number of others couldn’t wait for such a thing to actually happen. …and now, it appears it will. At Comic Con 2011, Cartoon Network announced a crossover special event that sounds exactly like the one we faked, but this time it’s for real! Ben 10 and Generator Rex will team up in a special one-shot called Ben 10 / Generator Rex: Heroes United. Confusing Ben in Humungousaur form as an E.V.O., Generator Rex decides to take the fight to Ben – only to discover they’re on the same side. Further details on the special are scarce right now, but we’ll get you the latest right here soon – stay TOONed!!

Ben 10: Ultimate Alien is a hit on Cartoon Network

Ben 10: Ultimate Alien is a hit on Cartoon Network

Since debuting only a few weeks ago, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien has already become one of the hottest shows on Cartoon Network, thanks in part to the loyal following of the Ben 10 franchise. Formally known under the working title Ben 10: Evolution, the series follows the leap from Ben 10 to Ben 10: Alien Force, and beyond. Ben is without his Omnitrix, but the more powerful Ultimatrix is ready to take its place. With Gwen, Kevin and Grandpa Max at his side, Ben continues to battle alien threats to the galaxy including finding five aliens that were attacked by a villain named Agreggor. What have you thought of the series so far?

Ultimate Spidermonkey, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien

Ultimate Spidermonkey, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien

Ben 10 Ultimate Alien is like an enhanced version of Ben 10 and Ben 10 Alien force. And, with that logic in place, it’s easy to see how the aliens and various forms Ben can transfer into have become enhanced, themselves. How? The power of the Ultrimatrix, the new series’ upgraded Omnitrix. Through that, we’ve seen Ultimate Swampfire, Utlimate Humongousaur, Ultimate Cannonbolt, Ultimate Big Chill, and Ultimate Echo Echo. Now, we get a look at Ultimate Spidermonkeya gorilla-like form with four spider arm/legs coming from the back of him to provide him mobility due to his shrunken legs. In this state, Ultimate Spidermonkey can shoot webs from his mouth.

Ultimate Echo Echo, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien

Fans around the world are riding high in the wake of the newest Ben 10 toon to reach the franchise; Ben 10 Ultimate Alien. Much of the success is from the new and creative forms Ben can take with the Ultrimatrix. We’ve had a behind-the-scenes look at Ultimate Swampfire, Utlimate Humongousaur, Ultimate Cannonbolt, and Ultimate Big Chill. Today, we’re concentrating on Ultimate Echo Echa; a silicon-based life Sonorosian from the planet Sonorosia whose body is a living amplifier. He can scream at ultrasonic frequencies capable of overloading machinery and stopping projectiles in mid-flight. He can duplicate himself, use echolocation, even form an impressive Wall of Sound. Through the Ultimatrix, Echo Echo becomes a taller blue version of himself with green eyes, can shoot sonic discs and can use a stronger soundwave.

Ultimate Big Chill, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien

Joining the ranks of Ultimate Swampfire, Utlimate Humongousaur, and Ultimate Cannonbolt is the newest form to Ben 10 Ultimate Alien’s arsenal; Ultimate Big Chill. This Ultrimatrix version of the original Big Chill is an evolved Necrofriggian. A moth-like alien from the planet Kylmyys, Ultimate Big Chill burns a redish hue, instead of his older form’s blue tones – who always reminded us of Blue Beetle from Batman: The Brave and the Bold. While he can still manipulate ice, he can now create “ice flames” to target enemies. Other powers include flight, the the ability to turn intangible, and incredible strength; all heightened in the Ultimate form.
