Saban Brands Israel has recently signed on to represent DreamWorks Animation properties in Israel, covering merchandise, retail, and publishing. The deal covers the properties based on the upcoming How to Train Your Dragon 2, along with Penguins of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and Dragons: Riders of Berk.

China Gets Oriental DreamWorks

DreamWorks Animation SKG has recently started a joint venture with China Media Capital, with pending plans to include Shanghai Alliance Investment, Ltd. and Shanghai Media Group, in order to establish a China-centric family of entertainment companies. Dubbed Oriental Dreamworks, the outfit will produce and develop original Chinese animated and live-action content similar to its western counterpart. With distribution being planned within China and to other territories around the world.

Australia will finally get a chance to watch Po and his ragtag group of kung-fu animals during their original broadcast dates as Nickelodeon Australia opens its Kick Butt Week with the premiere of the Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness CG animated series. Co-produced by Dreamworks Animation SKG and Nickelodeon, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness is based on the Kung Fu Panda Movie and features all the memorable characters (albeit only Viper and Mr. Ping will have their original voice actors, namely Lucy Liu and James Hong). The new episodes will start airing on Monday, February 20 at 4:30PM onwards.

In a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, Viacom and Nielsen are both investigating an unusual occurrence at the children’s cable network that is home to the likes of Spongebob Squarepants and The Penguins of Madagascar. Finally, after all the waiting, Nickelodeon will premiere the brand new Kung Fu Panda series on Monday November 7th at 5:30pm. The CG DreamWorks Animation toon, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, follows Po, Viper, Mr. Ping and others from the Kung Fu Panda franchise in regular series-based adventures, where the Dragon Warrior teams with the Furious Five to defend the Valley of Peace from various threats. t’s like having a Po all of your own!! In the episode, Sticky Situation, Po accidentally destroys the training hall. Yeah, sounds about right! To make up for his mistake, he looks for the hall’s original builder, entirely unaware that the inventor is an old enemy of Shifu’s. It’s like we’ve never left you!!

Nickelodeon will premiere a new CG animated series based on the adventures of the legendary Po in Kung fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness on Monday, November 7 at 5:30pm. Co-produced with Dreamworks Animation SKG, the CG animated series will air new episodes all week after new episodes of Spongebob Squarepants at 5pm. Based on the Kung Fu Panda movie franchise, Legends of Awesomeness will feature the voice talents of Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill) and James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China) reprising their roles in the movie, as Viper and Mr. Ping.
